This book is about a girl named Emily Windsnap. Emily is half human, and half mermaid. She goes on adventures to save her friends family, and even herself.

This was a great book. The only thing I didn't like was that there isn't a picture of her so you don't really know what she looks like. I'm guessing she she has golden brown hair and deep blue eyes. Other than the fact that I don't know what she looks like, I totally recommend this book!

Book Title: And Then There Were None
Author: Agatha Christie
Category: Mystery
Reviewed by : Justin D, Age 13

The book “And Then There Were None” is about certain10 people are chosen to go to an island. They all go to the island for a different reason. Some went to meet old friends, some went on a vacation and some went for a job.  The first night they arrived, 2 of them died. One of them died because he choked on his wine which had something put into it, the other person died when she was sleeping and given an overdose of a drug. It was at this point when they decided that the killer was amongst the guest who came to the island.

The poem which the killer base the killings goes like this:
Ten little Indian boys went out to dine; One choked his little self and then there were Nine.
Nine little Indian boys sat up very late; One overslept himself and then there were Eight.Eight little Indian boys traveling in Devon; One said he'd stay there and then there were Seven.
Seven little Indian boys chopping up sticks; One chopped himself in halves and then there were Six.
Six little Indian boys playing with a hive; A bumblebee stung one and then there were Five.
Five little Indian boys going in for law; One got into Chancery and then there were Four.
Four little Indian boys going out to sea; A red herring swallowed one and then there were Three.
Three little Indian boys walking in the Zoo; A big bear hugged one and then there were Two.
Two little Indian boys were out in the sun; One got all frizzled up and then there was one. (in some versions Two Little Indian boys playing with a gun; One shot the other and then there was one.)
One little Indian boy left all alone; He went out and hanged himself and then there were none.

I really liked this book because it was a very unpredictable story. When I started reading this book I couldn’t put down the book. This is why I really liked this book.

When the Poppers open it they are very surprised to find a penguin looking back at them.

Mr. Popper starts out with 1 penguin and ends up with 12.  You have to read the book to find out the rest! Mr. Popper's Penguins is a classic the whole family will love. This book is so funny, I highly recommend you read the book before you see the movie!

Book Title: MELVIN BEEDERMAN SUPERHERO
Author: Greg Trine
Category: Funny Series
Reviewed by : Active Girl, Age 8

This book is about a superhero who is in charge of keeping Los Angeles safe.  He has a lot of enemies but only one sidekick.

The illustrations are very weird but in a cool way.  For example: the people in this book only have four fingers, and when Melvin Beederman is flying in the wind, his hair doesn't move at all!

I love this book and its entire series! It's funny, crazy and cool!  The "Narrator" is super funny too. I can't think of anything I don't like about this book!  I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a good laugh.

  1. CC, that is a very good book review. Did you learn how to write one in school? I don't think I learned to write one until I was in 5th Grade.

  2. For 39 Clues, are the stories connected in the series or is each book its own individual stories? Sounds interesting!
