Happy Halloween, Hurricane Sandy's Horse!

Part 1: Hurricane Sandy

During Sandy, I had a lot of free time, since school was closed Monday & Tuesday :)! I mostly watched Disney on my ipad, and helped Daddy rake leaves, and cleaned my room. I also set up a nice little "shelter" under the dining room table (includes a movie theater) so my mom, my dad, and I slept there last night. Well actually, my dad didn't really sleep there all night. He woke up at 4 in the morning and went to bed upstairs. Mommy said we lost power for a few hours late last night but it didn't affect me because I was sound asleep. I hope everyone is safe and sound!

Part 2: A Horse

I drew this horse just before the hurricane for a school project. Hope you like it!

Part 3: Happy Halloween!
Enjoy your trick- or- treating!
P.S. Can anybody guess what I'm being for Halloween? If you want to, please post a comment and guess!

MANGA

Today in art class, we did "manga" cartoons. According to About.com, "manga" is

Definition

Manga are Japanese comic books. Manga is often made into Japanese cartoons, or Anime. The art in Manga has a very definite look to it and is often referred to as “Manga Style.”

Pronunciation:

(Maw – Nnnnn – Gah) In Japanese, it is actually three syllables, although the middle "N" is spoken very quick. Americans have a habit of pronouncing it "Man-Gah", but that is not actually correct.

A Must Read, Perfect for Election Time!

This book is a must read, starring 13-year old Judson Moon, the kid who became president! It's also the perfect book since the presidential election is coming up on November 6, 2012. Here's a sneak peek at this hilarious novel:

My fellow Americans,
When I was running for president, I said you should vote for me because I didn't know anything about politics, and how to raise taxes...or how to ruin the economy. I didn't know how to get us into a war. I said you should vote for me because I didn't know anything.
Well that was two months ago, and I'm very proud to say that... I still don't know anything.
The twentieth century is over; the twenty-first has begun. We've got a lot of work to do. So, America, ARE YOU READY TO RUMMMBLE???

I recommend this book to anyone who doesn't mind getting "tricked" into learning while they are reading. You can also get the first book in this two-book series: The Kid Who Ran For President.

District Chorus Update

I made it! I made it!
