Karakung Mini Triathlon

On Sunday, I did the Karakung Mini Triathlon. This is my second year doing this race. A triathlon consists of swimming, biking, and running.  It was a very hot and humid day for a triathlon.  The temperature was 93 degrees but it felt like I was wearing a wool sweater in the desert. First, I had to swim four laps (100m). We could swim any stroke we wanted.  I swam 3 laps backstroke and 1 lap freestyle. Then I biked 1.75  miles. Next, I ran half a mile. There was water at the end! It was very refreshing and cold! I never thought water could taste so good!  The one thing I like about this triathlon is everyone who finishes gets a medal.  Every triathlete got to get in the pool afterwards. I placed 9th out of 21 kids in my age group.  It was a fun triathlon!  I look forward to doing it again next year.

My Favorite "Auntie Katie" and  my Uncle Vin couldn't make it so they made me this sign for good luck!

Happy Birthday Coach Tara

I like all the coaches from my summer swim team.  Coach Tara and Coach Alex are 2 of my favorites.  But we’re not going to talk about Coach Alex today, so let’s forget about him for now.  We are going to focus on Coach Tara because Sunday is her birthday, but the team is going to celebrate her birthday today during practice since there is no practice on Sunday.

I made a card for Coach Tara (see below) which I will give to her after practice.  Our team mascot is a dolphin in case you are wondering why I drew 2 dolphins.  I also made up this song, check it out:

Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday to you,
You swim like a dolphin,
So fast and so smoooooth!

Trusty Toes

I want to dedicate this post to my second grade friend, Camryn.  She is a loyal viewer who checks my blog  every day.  If only she could figure out how to become a "follower"too, that would be awesome!
Camryn created the Zebra Dance. So my trusty toes decided to play the Chicken Dance for her (it is the next closet thing to the Zebra Dance).

Camryn, I hope you enjoy this funny tune.

Back to Back Swim Meets

On Wednesday, we had a swim meet.  My Grandma, Uncle Vin,  and my favorite "Auntie" KT came to see me swim.  Good thing I swam well.  I got first place in all 4 events.  As a prize, Uncle Vin let me borrow his DS.  I can only play 30 minutes a day.  Boy, do I have strict parents!

On Thursday (yesterday), we had another swim meet.  Nobody came to see me swim, not even Daddy . Mommy was volunteering as a timer.  So, she got to see me swim.  Well, sort of.  She was timing in the lane next to me.  I got first place in all 3 events (back, breast, freestyle) and my name will be in this week's Sunday paper as a triple-winner .

Boy, am I pooped !  Even though I  swimming, I am glad to have this weekend off.  But I still have practice one more time tonight.  Oh well.

Have A Happy 4th Of July!
