This weekend I went camping at Hickory Run State Park. I went with my parents, my friend Aidan, and his parents. Here is a "journal" of my trip:
Day 1
We're at the campsite already. We just found out that Aidan isn't coming until tomorrow. I'm totally bummed! We have some iced tea and set up the tent. It's time for dinner now. We have Italian style grilled chicken. It's the best chicken I've ever tasted. Now it's time for s'mores. Mmmmmmmm, so good! Bedtime now, good night.
Day 2
Why did you wake me up so early, mommy?!?! I guess I should stay up. We start the fire again. Then we hear a car. Yay, Aidan is here!!!!!!!!!! We go to the Boulder Field almost right away.
The Boulder Field is a field of boulders that you can hop across, it's about 1800 ft long and 400 ft wide. On the way over I catch a big black spider. I put it in a jar. When we finish the Boulder Field we go to the beach and have lunch. I'm playing in the weeds when I see something jump. It's a frog! Aidan and I catch it and put it in container. At the beach we catch a giant tadpole, two tiny silver fish, and a newt! Daddy,can I please keep the frog?!?!?!?!?!?! His response: "You have to let it go on the last day!" I guess I'm okay with that but I kinda wish I could keep it longer :(.

Day 3
Today is Father's Day and all I want to say is "Happy Father's Day" to all those loving dads out there, especially my Daddy! He's the best daddy in the whole wide world.
It's also the last day of camping. Rats! Today I have to let Froggy go. We have decided to go on a 1 mile hike called the Blue Trail which connects to Pine Hill Trail. Aidan and I race ahead of everyone else. Yes! We're finally back at the campsite. We don't have enough wood left to make a fire so we just sit around and eat lunch. Now it's time to leave. We drop Froggy off at the stream on the way home. I'm reading when......Ahhhhh!!!!!! Big black bear crossing the road and stopping traffic. Oh great, Mommy failed to take a picture AGAIN. That was one fun camping trip!!! I hope Aidan and his family can come again next year.
