2013 Winterfest, MD

     Over the weekend, I swam in Winterfest. Winterfest is a qualifying meet in Maryland that is really hard to get into. This place is amazing! It actually has 3 pools in the same building. I swam 100 yard (4 laps) butterfly, and 50 yard (2 laps) butterfly. I improved by 7.7 seconds in my 100 yard butterfly :), but I gained 0.88 seconds in my 50 yard fly :(.

     It was a very long day and we were all very tired afterwards. We spent Saturday night at a hotel. It was a lot of fun because my teammates were staying there too! My swim buddy, Kathryn's family and our family went to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner. It was awesome! We ate lots of good food and watched a great football game (Baltimore Ravens vs. Denver Broncos) on like a million TVs. Kathryn & I timed each other on how long we could keep the hot sauce in our mouths. Then, we went to IKEA for ice cream and back to the hotel for some fun swim, played hallway tag, and played pool until 11 o'clock.

     

     I just want to end this blog by saying: "Good job, to Kathryn, Risa, JR, and Donovan, who were swimming in my sessions. You all did great especially JR and Risa who were alternates in the finals! Thanks guys for cheering me on!    
     Also, thank you to the following coaches for coming to the meet: Coach Jim, Coach Sam, Coach Karin, and Coach Sarah for being at the meet and giving up your weekend to be with us.
    Special thanks to Coach Tara, Coach Kim, and Coach Mike for helping me with my fly in practice during this past week! 
     Also thanks to Keara, Mrs. Barber, Ms. Joanne, Katie, G&T, Kat, and Ms. Becky for sending luck my way! But most of all, thank you Mommy and Daddy for driving me to Maryland and waiting through those long hours before I swam! I love you! :)
