A Family Record!!!!!!!!

Over the weekend, my family and I did the Lancaster Covered Bridge Metric Century bike ride like we do every year. This is our fourth year doing this ride. We have been doing it since I was 7. But this is the first time we did the 100K course (you have the option to do 25K, 50K or 100K). We went one day early and stayed at a hotel, so we could enjoy the sights of Lancaster and go shopping at Rockvale Outlets. We had a delicious Linner at Jenny's Diner in Ronks, PA. They have pancakes the size of a pizza, and amazing mashed potatoes!
Our wet, mud and poop covered jerseys after the ride.

The next day, we had to wake up super early (5:30 AM) and go straight to the ride. We had to bike in some really bad conditions, including rain, puddles, a lot of horse poop, and the horrible smell of a lot of horse poop. It was also pretty hilly. I feel bad for mommy who was riding behind me. Because it rained really hard at times, and every time I rode over the poop (because there was no where else to ride.) The rain mixed with poop would splatter mommy right in the face. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that there is horse poop every where because we were riding in Amish country and they use horse-drawn buggies for transportation. Did I mention that it was pretty hilly? They call it "rolling" terrain.

When we made it to the lunch stop half way through, we were cold and wet, but the Subway hoagies and cookies were delicious. After lunch, we headed out right away and finished the entire metric century (65 miles) with a total moving time of 5hrs and 20min.

I was so happy when we finished and there was ice-cream at the end. Yum! Mommy & Daddy were really proud because I was probably the only kid who did a 100 km.

After the ride, I decided to make a bucker list, add "Do a metric century bike ride" to the list, than check it off. You can see my new "Bucket List" page at

  1. I would love for us to do a century ride before Mommy & Daddy get too old.
