MY NEW YEAR'S EVE
Happy New Year everybody! Did you all have a great New Year's Eve? I sure did!
Mommy's friend, Ms. Jennie invited us to a New Year's Eve party. I was really excited about going all week long because I get to see my friends Mandy, Ryan, and Mei Mei who I haven't seen in a little while. Unfortunately, we all got sick. Daddy got a really bad cough, mommy got a very sore throat and started coughing a little, and I had a such a runny nose that I went through a whole box of tissues in just 2 days. Doggy was the only one who was feeling 100%. So, mommy said we better stay home and not infect all our friends and make them suffer too.
We got to use the fireplace. This was a big deal since this was the first time I ever experienced a fire in this house. We also roasted marshmallows,(Doggy did too) and they were delicious! I stayed up long enough to see the ball drop, but I didn't actually see it drop because I was too busy looking at the countdown clock.
We all camped out downstairs in the living room until the next morning. I slept in my play tent, and Mommy and Daddy slept on the floor by the fire. I think I fell asleep around 12:30. Even though I didn't get to see my friends, I had a great New Year's Eve with my family!

MY NEW YEAR'S DAY
On New Year's Day, Mommy woke me up at 10:00 for breakfast and then we went ice skating afterwards. I saw my friends Katherine and Elsa at the Skatium! I skated with Mommy during the first 90 min. Then my friends and I skated together for the last 30 minutes. We had a lot of fun just skating around and around. Wow, I can't believe we skated the entire 2 hours. After skating, Daddy met up with us and we went to IKEA for linner because Mommy wanted to get these bowls from IKEA. Linner: noun [lin-er] it's the meal of the day when it's too late for lunch yet too early for dinner; usually eaten between the hours of 2:00 and 4:00 in the afternoon. Basically, I did nothing all day but had fun with my family and friends. I had the best New Year's Day ever!
What a great way to spend new year's eve! I love it that you introduced the word "linner." Aidan and I didn't know this word existed and made up our own word for the meal between lunch and dinner. We call it "lunner" = "LUnch and diNNER" Pretty close to the real word :) Now we know the correct word to use :)Thanks!
